I created this app 7 months ago keeping in mind that Android is current boom in mobile market. My research said there are more users going into Android platform compared to other platform I decided to create a MOVIE based app for Android users called Zap Movies. Since I have other projects coming on I don’t have enough time to manage this app now, so decided to sell it.

With my ZAP MOVIES App users watch MOVIES on the go. Doesn’t matter whether they are travelling in a train - all alone or sitting in a boring technical symposium, all they have to do is, fire up ‘Zap Movies’ and they have 2000 movies at their fingertips.
Content available include movies from BAFTA nominated directors and the duration of movies range from a few minutes to even up to one hour. Users can rate movies and share the reviews so that it will help others when they decide to watch that movie.

With 5882 installs till date and growing every day, Zap Movies is highly rated with average 4 stars in Android market by users. Zap Video app stays on top in movie category app in the market. For now this app is free for all the users. We made ~3.5k USD in May as a monetization test but never monetized it again in order to focus towards growing user base but considering revenue in mind you can add advertisements from any mobile ad networks or even change it to be a paid app in the market. With the number of current installs, user base growth trend, quality of content, I am sure you can easily make out that app has potential to make more than $5k every month easily.

Operational/Marketing Cost:

Along with free videos in collections we also bought mobile video rights which cost us in range of ~$25 to ~$500 depending on video quality, movie theme & filming efforts. We spent about $2k on development of app and hosting cost is ~$100/month. We never marketed or spent even single dollar in promotions.
